FRAZIER CUP 2010
The Frazer Cup was held on a blustery thursday evening this year. After a passing thundershower and double rainbow, the alums and undergrad rowers set off onto the Schulykill River to race. The grads quick lead diminished as the undergrads took the lead until about 30 stroke to go. Then the undergrads took a sharp turn toward the wall and the grads pulled through for a victory. The undergrads recieved an award for rowing the most distance in the straight four.
The fastest single of the day was Charles Meredith III, D'54. The fastest double was son, Ty Meredith D'80 and his son Quint Meredith. Three generations of Merediths in the same race and all winners in their class!!!
Line ups were: Alum Quad: Brennan Preine D'78, Ian Grajewski D'06, Prescott Huidekoper D'74 and Alex Cook D'74. The undergrad straight four was populated by: John Sides D'08, Jay Clapp D'07, JP Beaulac D'07 and Mylo Cheng D'09.
The race was watched by a riveted group of undergrads, guests and dinstinguished alum, Jerry White D'53 and family. Due to the large crowds, next year will likely need to have a web cam option for viewers.
